This is my Christmas cactus. It bloomed early this year. Beautiful isn't it? This huge cactus was originally a small start from my mother's (Nana) plant.
It is called a Christmas cactus because they typically bloom every year during holidays.

I'm what you call a "blog stalker" because I snuck onto your blog from Vera's. John and I are in CA working for the week. He retires from Congress in January so it's our last official visit to the Congressional District. I have walking pneumonia which is a drag, but it's nice to check out your blog. You are as beautiful as when we met 40+ years ago in your white house. Since my folks are gone I appreciate seeing how much your family loves you...and I do too! The Christmas cactus is amazing and I love molasses cookies. Perfect for this time of year.
